How corporate raiders became teams of rivals

This article in the Financial Times describes how private equity funds turned from rivals into colleagues working together on deals.

One of the the take-aways for management teams is that debt instruments are no longer necessarily held by banks, but can be marketed to "rival" private equity funds, who thus obtain influence on the management of the deal.
